Beautiful specimen of the "Die Medaille zur Erinnerung an den 13 Mar 1938", one of the three so-called '' Flower Wars '' medals.
This decoration was established on May 1, 1938 and commemorated the return of Austria (Adolf Hitler's homeland) to the German empire, which began on March 12 and ended the next day without Reich troops meeting any resistance.
The medal, known as '' Anschluss Medaille '' (i.e. the Anschluss Medal or annexation), was issued to all those who had participated in this annexation, Austrians, members of the Austrian NSDAP, soldiers of the Wehrmacht and the SS. The front is the usual one for all the medals of the '' Flower Wars '', while the back has the inscription "13 March 1938" and the slogan "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer" , a state, a leader).
