Felt helmet of the Prussian Infantry period 1915/16.
It is one of the so-called ERSATZ or "spare parts", that is helmets built with alternative materials to leather which has now become rare and precious with the impending world war.
Probably an example of the first productions as it still retains all the harnesses (front edge, nail, rear spine and Eagle) in brass.
The body is in excellent condition with no breakages, it has only a slight rear deformation, complete with a waxed canvas interior, leather wedge and both original kokkarde.
